McGraw Bagnoli Architects, in our ongoing collaboration with the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS), provided design and programmatic support to the Boston Public School system in its recent renovation and conversion of an existing 1930’s era elementary school into a state of the art Public Montessori school. Opened in September, 2014, the new school is led by principal Mayra Cuevas and offers a Montessori based curriculum for toddlers through 5th grade. Upon completion of the first two months of operation, Ms. Cuevas lauded MBA by stating that “The school is a beautiful place because of your work”.
MBA and NCMPS worked directly with Boston Public School Superintendent Margarita Ruiz to ensure the facility conversion would support Montessori specific improvements at all levels including site, building, and individual classroom design.
