MBA to Lecture on College Town Design and Economics

MBA is pleased to announce Principal David C. Bagnoli has been selected to share his research and writing regarding College Towns at the International Town Gown Association’s (ITGA) 2014 conference “Back to the Future: Sharing a Unified Town-Gown Vision” at Clemson University.  The ITGA, an organization founded to develop common issues between institution of higher learning and their communities, selected David to speak about his work with campuses and communities to evaluate and plan for mutually beneficial opportunities. David will present a lecture entitled “The Economics of Collaboration: Turning Challenges into Opportunities in a College Town Environment” to share his research into ways institutions of all sorts (rural or urban, small or large, public or private) have capitalized on their unique conditions to address common issues of concern for campuses and their communities.  Using case studies from across the country he will outline economic impacts of new and existing campuses on surrounding communities and present his thoughts on a range of Town/Gown settings, integrating real word examples of collaborative approaches communities have taken to the complex issues of housing, retail, the arts, business incubation, recruiting and retention, and shared infrastructure.MBA_NEWS_ITGA
