We are happy to announce the start of construction for our new Children’s Classroom pavilion at the National Arboretum. Together with a range of dedicated partners including the Washington Youth Garden, the Weissburg Foundation, the Friends of the National Arboretum, Ehlert Bryan Structural Engineers, Added Dimensions Construction and Yachad, our firm led the design effort which garnered approval from the US Commission of Fine Arts, the US Department of Agriculture and the National Arboretum. Replacing a temporary tent on the same site, the project is nestled into the edge of the Grove of State Trees and will welcome children from the Washington DC metro area to continue the Youth Garden’s mission of reaching out to young people to enrich science learning, inspire environmental stewardship and cultivate healthy food choices in youth and families.
