The Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recognized Pier 4 as one of the area’s exceptional projects for 2020, announced in a virtual celebration on August 13. The Jury, comprised of practicing architects from Houston, TX, found the project to be both a compelling statement of its time and one that charts a path forward toward resiliency in the face of rising sea levels, all the while using existing infrastructure to do so!
